Hazon

Hazon is the largest faith-based environmental organization in the U.S. and is building a movement that strengthens Jewish life and contributes to a more environmentally sustainable world for all. As the Jewish lab for sustainability, Hazon effects change through immersive experiences and inspires individuals and communities to make specific commitments to change with a particular focus on food systems.

In 2019, Hazon purchased The Jewish Planner to distribute at their annual Jewish Outdoor, Food, Farming, and Environmental Education (JOFEE) Network Gathering. They were given to all current JOFEE Fellows, their mentors, and members of the 2019 JOFEE Leaders Institute. These fellows, their mentors, and the leader’s institute represent the spectrum of organizations that are leading the Jewish environmental education movement. From Jewish farms at JCCs and summer camps, to major Jewish retreat centers focused on living Jewish values through the agricultural roots of Judaism.
